WE ACT FOR BIODIVERSITY
Wildlife Estates Ireland
is a network of exemplary estates that voluntarily agree to adhere to the philosophy of wildlife management and sustainable land use.
We aim
- to engage the private and public sectors in mutual cooperation to halt the loss of biodiversity;
- to promote, implement and share the best contemporary practices in wildlife management to maximize the benefits they deliver;
- to improve the political and public perception towards private estate management, and understanding of what economic, environmental, and other public benefits they deliver;
- to provide a framework which enables development and promotion of management initiatives that can ensure balance among economic, social and ecological interests;
- to spread important information about wildlife management for educational, decision-taking, and policy-making purposes. The WE project is one of the activities of The European Landowners' Organization offering the opportunity to work with the European Commission as a partner. Thus, the Wildlife Estate Label structure is also a policy instrument through which the views of our members are heard and taken into account when important changes in the European legislation are decided.
